Abstract
Objective :s study was conducted to examine the relationship among knowledge of menopause, self-efficacy and menopausal management in middle-aged women.

Methods : study subjects included 149 women aged 40-60 years in P city. The instruments used in this study were the knowledge of menopause, self -efficacy (generalself-efficacy, concrete-self-efficacy) and menopausal management scale developed by Song(1997). The data were collected from July 1 to August 31, 2002. The data were analyzed with the SPSS Win 10.0.

Results : mean score of knowledge of menopause was 7.36¡¾3.01. The mean score of general-self-efficacy was 49.87¡¾7.26 and concrete-self-efficacy was 31.91¡¾4.95. The mean score of menopausal management was 38.06¡¾8.84. There were statistically significant differences in the score of self-efficacy according to experience of fracture(p <0.05) and ovariotomy (p < 0.05) . There were statistically significant differences in the score of menopausal management according to age (p < 0.001) , status of menstruation (p <0.05), menstruation cycle (p < 0.05) and hormone replacement therapy (p < 0.001). The predictors of menopausal management were concrete-self-efficacy, age, income and menopausal cycle and they explained 32.1% of the total variances.

Conclusion :s study revealed that concrete-self-efficacy is factor related to menopausal management of middle-aged women. It is suggested that a specific nursing
intervention should be provided to increase concrete-self-efficacy in middle-aged women.
